Pocket Monsters – FireRed is an RPG game for the Game Boy Advance. The player controls a party of six Pocket Monsters as they explore the Kanto region, battling trainers and other Pokémon in order to progress.

The game begins with the player’s character, a young boy named Red, waking up in a Pokémon Center after being knocked out in a battle. Red is then given a choice of three Pokémon to start his journey with: a Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle. After choosing his Pokémon, Red is then shown the game’s main menu. Here, the player can choose to start the game with a Pokémon Center or a rival’s Pokémon Center as their home base. The player can also choose to start the game with a Pokémon of their own level, or with a Pokémon of a higher level. After choosing the options, the game begins. Red is shown walking around Pallet Town, the game’s starting location, and is given the option to talk to the town’s Pokémon Professor. After talking to the Professor, Red is given the option to start his journey.
