The story of Pokemon – Versione Verde Foglia begins with the player’s character waking up in a hospital after a long battle. They are informed that they have lost their memory and must start from scratch. The player is then given the choice to choose one of three starter Pokemon: Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle. After choosing their starter, the player is then taken to Pallet Town, where they must start their journey by going to the Pokemon Center and registering their Pokemon. The player’s first goal is to travel to Viridian City and meet Professor Oak, who will give them a starter Pokemon and teach them the basics of the game. After completing the tutorial, the player is free to explore the city and battle any Pokemon they come across. After Viridian City, the player is free to explore the rest of Kanto, but must first defeat the Elite Four and Champion. Once the player has completed the main story, they can revisit any of the cities they have visited and battle any Pokemon they have not yet encountered. There are also new areas to explore, such as the Safari Zone, which allows the player to battle Pokemon in different environments. There are also new Pokemon to be found, including new types of Pokemon.
