Pokemon Diamond Version is a video game for the Nintendo DS. It was released in Japan on November 18, 2006, in North America on November 24, 2006, in Europe on November 25, 2006, and in Australia on November 26, 2006. The game is the seventh installment of the Pokémon series, and the first for the Diamond and Pearl generation of games. The game is a role-playing game in which the player controls a character and their team of Pokémon in a quest to become the best trainer in the world. The player can choose from a variety of characters to play as, each with their own unique abilities and Pokémon. The game features a new battle system in which the player uses strategic moves to defeat their opponents. The game was well-received by critics, who praised the new battle system and graphics. However, some criticized the game for its short length.

The story of the Diamond Version of the Pokemon game begins with the player choosing one of the three starter Pokemon – Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle.
