Half-Life

Half-Life is a first-person shooter video game developed by Valve Corporation and released in November 1998 for the PC. The game is set in the fictional world of Black Mesa, a research facility that has been invaded by the aliens known as the Combine. The player assumes the role of Gordon Freeman, a scientist who is trapped on the facility and must fight his way through the Combine forces to escape. The game was a critical and commercial success, selling over three million copies by the end of 1998. It has been praised for its innovative gameplay and graphics, and is considered one of the greatest video games of all time. A sequel, Half-Life 2, was released in 2004, and a third game, Half-Life 3, is in development.
