In the year 20XX, the world is on the brink of a new era of peace. However, a new and powerful enemy has arisen, and they are determined to bring about the end of the world. The only thing that stands in their way is the Metal Slug team, led by Colonel Volgin. In this anthology game, you will play as different characters from the Metal Slug series as they fight their way through different stages to stop Volgin and his forces from achieving their goal. You will have to use your skills and firepower to take down enemies and bosses, and you will need to be careful not to get hit by any of the deadly obstacles that are scattered throughout the levels. If you can make it to the end of the game, you will be able to save the world from destruction, and you will be a hero!.
