Need for Speed – Most Wanted – Black Edition is a racing video game developed by Criterion Games and published by Electronic Arts for the PlayStation 2. It was released in November 2005 in Europe and North America, and in December 2005 in Japan. The game is the fifth installment in the Need for Speed series. The game features a new Most Wanted mode, in which the player must complete a series of challenges to become the Most Wanted driver in the game. The player can also race against other players online. Need for Speed – Most Wanted – Black Edition received mixed reviews on all platforms according to the review aggregation website Metacritic. In Japan, Famitsu gave it a score of three sevens for a total of 29 out of 40.
