Shadow of Rome is an action-adventure video game developed by Creative Assembly and published by Sega for the PlayStation 2. It is the sequel to the 2003 game Rome: Total War. The game is set in the time of the Roman Republic, and follows the story of two Roman generals, Gaius Julius Caesar and Marcus Licinius Crassus, as they wage war on one another for control of Rome. The game begins with the death of the emperor and the ascension of his son, who is quickly met with opposition from the senate.
