The player progresses through the game by exploring Silent Hill and solving puzzles. The game features combat against monsters, and the player can use weapons and items to defend themselves. The player can also use items to heal themselves or to summon help from other characters in the game. The game received mixed reviews from critics. The game begins with protagonist James Sunderland waking up in a hospital with no memory of how he got there. Sunderland begins to piece together what happened from the few memories he has, and it seems that he and his fellow passengers were taken to a strange and dangerous place called Silent Hill. Sunderland soon discovers that he’s the only one who can save the town from a dark force that’s come to take it over. He has to fight through the twisted streets of Silent Hill, and use his wits and weapons to survive. If he can make it out alive, he’ll have to find a way to return to the real world and tell the world what happened..
