Tenchu – Wrath of Heaven is a stealth action game for the Playstation 2. The player takes control of a ninja named Atsushi Nakamura as he infiltrates the stronghold of a rival ninja clan. The game features a variety of stealth and action gameplay elements.

The game begins with a prologue in which the protagonist, Ayame, is shown escaping from a castle besieged by the forces of the evil Genma. Ayame is accompanied by her loyal ninja, Shizuka, and her young son, Ryu. Ayame and her party are pursued by Genma’s forces, but they are eventually able to escape. The game then shifts to the present day, where Ayame has returned to her home village to find it in ruins. Ayame is able to find her son, Ryu, and discover that he has been taken by the evil ninja leader, Kaede. Ayame is then able to find Kaede’s hideout and rescue her son. After rescuing her son, Ayame is then able to find and defeat Kaede. Ayame is then able to return to her home village and rebuild it..
