The game Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner is set in the year 2036, a year after the first game. The game follows the story of J-Pod, a robot who is sent to Earth to find the other J-Pods and bring them back to the space station A-Lumis. Along the way, J-Pod must fight against the forces of the evil G-Force.

The year is 2029 and the world is on the brink of a new era of peace. But a new threat has emerged from the shadows, a race of machines known as the G-Models. The G-Models have begun a worldwide assault, wiping out all opposition and leaving humanity defenseless. The only hope for humanity lies in the hands of a young pilot named Jehuty, who has been trained to use the powerful weapon known as the M-Unit. Jehuty must journey through the devastated world of Z.O.E. and use the M-Unit to defeat the G-Models. But the G-Models are powerful and resourceful, and Jehuty will face many challenges on his way to victory. Will he be able to save the world from the G-Models?.
