Takin’ It to the Hoop is a basketball game for the Turbografx-16. It was released in Japan in 1992, and in North America in 1993. The game was developed by Hudson Soft and published by Bandai. The game is a side-scrolling game in which the player controls one of eight characters (five human players and three computer-controlled players) as they attempt to score points against the other team. The game features five levels of difficulty, and allows the player to choose between playing in a single-player mode or a two-player mode. The game was well-received by critics, who praised its graphics and gameplay. It was also commercially successful, selling over one million copies worldwide.
